Life is hard out here for kids these days. School opens back up in three weeks. Get out of here! It is trash as the grandsons would say. It’s a short summer so make the most of it. This is the second straight week of grandsons for the lovely Amy and me. We wouldn’t have it any other way, however let me offer this pro tip. We have and will have three trips for just the two of us this summer.
Interstates, Starbucks, and Buc-ees
We fell for it. We bought the hype of Buc-ees. They have this whole beaver theme going. It’s a cute little place with gas pumps for as far as the eye can see. I am confused by the hyphenation. If anybody can explain it, please do so in the comments. By my best count I will spend somewhere between 55 and 60 hours in a car on Interstates this summer. It’s a short summer so make the most of it. Starbucks is a life saver. I am not sure if it is really keeping me going, but all of that sugar and caffeine has to help on some level.
Down In Ohio
I love the smell of chlorine and sunscreen in the morning. It smells like…victory! Give me some beach or some pool just about anywhere and I can find happiness. The only smell that I like more is fresh mowed grass in the morning on a pure golf course. Every state has these happy places, yet there are states that are flyover or drive through states for me. Each state has a beauty all its own from the Interstate. Between South Carolina and Michigan you might spend some time in North Carolina, Tennessee, Indiana and Kentucky. If you are wondering Kentucky has the cheapest gas. And you might find yourself down in Ohio. I hear that Ohio is swag and exclusive, but I’m not stopping to find out. It’s a short summer so make the most of it.
I love Buc-ees! Beaver nuggets are so addictive. Have a great rest of your summer Craig & Amy!
